Drone Racing and Challenges

Dayton FPV and Venture Smarter have come together to host FPV Drone Races on Wednesday, October 25th during the first-ever Midwest IoT Showcase at the Smart Regions Conference.  Drone races will take center stage inside BB&T Arena as 35 pilots will compete for a $5,000 prize pool.  

Join us in welcoming elite competitors, spectators, enthusiasts, and amateurs as they race among any of the timed-trials taking place throughout the day.  By bringing together engaging commentary, simultaneous sound effects, and action soundtracks, host Joe Scully will entertain, educate, and inform everyone in attendance - from first-time spectators to seasoned participants!

Schedule:

8:30 am - Pilot Briefing, Tech Check

9:00 am - Open Qualifying (Tablet System, fly as many times as possible)

3:00 pm - Top-8 Double Elimination Brackets

4:00 pm - Final 4 Triple A (2 best finishes of 3)

4:30 pm - Championship Ceremony

Following two organized practice rounds, races will be broken down into two-minute trials, featuring four pilots per heat, Led's, and 25mW video transmission.  Participants are welcome to race as many rounds as desired until 3:00 pm - when the eight qualifying pilots will race it out with a chance to be named the 2017 BB&T Arena Drone Racing Champion.

Additional prizes will be given to top positions that include: Pulse Batteries, Video transmitters, Dal Props, Tiny Whoop bag, Battery Strap, and Discount Coupons for Dayton Drones.
